“A Healthier Tomorrow Begins With Understanding the Mind”
About Us
The Auris Foundation was established in 1984 on a single conviction: that the distance between who we are and who we are capable of becoming is not a matter of will. It is a matter of understanding.
We don’t treat illness. We study excellence. Our participants are followed carefully, with their knowledge and their trust, for life.
Our Research
- Plasticity & Learning — how a skill travels from effort to instinct.
- Sleep & Integration — what changes in the brain while we rest.
- Perception & Attention — how the brain decides what to notice, and what to let go.
- Longitudinal Studies — our work is longitudinal by nature. The most meaningful data reveals itself slowly.
Arts Programs
Through our Instrument Stewardship Program, historic string instruments are placed on long-term loan with exceptional young performers. Terms of stewardship:
- Instruments remain the property of the Foundation in perpetuity.
- Stewards agree to keep the instrument in performance condition and in their personal care at all times.
- Stewards consent to periodic wellness assessments, scheduled at the Foundation’s discretion.
- Stewards will not be informed of assessment dates in advance.
- The Foundation may recall an instrument at any time, for any reason.
What’s New!
