THE AURIS FOUNDATION
ARTS & CULTURE

Excellence, wherever it is found.

The Foundation has been a patron of the performing arts for nearly as long as it has existed. We believe great performance is one of the clearest windows we have into what a human mind can do.

Instrument Stewardship Program

The Foundation maintains a small collection of historic instruments, placed on long-term loan with performers at a pivotal moment in their careers.

Stewards are nominated by partner conservatories and ensembles. There is no application. Each placement is made quietly, and many of our stewards keep their instrument for the length of a career.

TERMS OF STEWARDSHIP — SUMMARY
  1. Instruments remain the property of the Foundation in perpetuity.
  2. Stewards agree to keep the instrument in performance condition and in their personal care at all times.
  3. Stewards consent to periodic wellness assessments, scheduled at the Foundation’s discretion.
  4. The Foundation may recall an instrument at any time, for any reason.
